Supplemental Math Materials - Funding to purchase supplementary math materials including math games, manipulatives and math books for 6^{th though 8th grade levels.}

To purchase a refrigerator and hot plate for a basic skills cooking class offered as an 8th grade elective class.

To purchase a class set of the new (2007) Field Guide to the Fauna and Flora of the Sierra Nevada.

To purchase supplemental math materials including overhead timers, white boards and math realia for the school site.

To purchase a variety of math games to make learning more meaningful, exciting and fun. These games will become part of a math resource center in the library for all teachers to access.

To purchase GPS (Global Positioning System) units to be used in the exploratory class, ?Cartography, Topography and Meteorology,? as well as for curriculum activities that meet the content standards for 6th grade math and science.

High Interest, Low Readability Books - To purchase high interest, low readability books for the school library and for classroom use in order to expand the collection appropriate to low-level readers

Video Production Equipment to make up this Portable Digital media lab to integrate video production into the classroom. This program will use the new standard in video production (computer editing) to create a digital production studio

Purchase of Audio books corresponding to the books currently used in the Language Arts program at SMMS. Audio books would provide all students at SMMS equal access to classroom literature regardless of reading ability
