Digital cameras in the classroom will enhance many different projects that are part of the daily activities at Tahoe Lake School. Students and teachers will be able to meet the needs of tying academic and technology standards into projects.
This grant will purchase a portable spotlight for use of any production on the Truckee Elementary School?s Stage, including grade level performances or community events.
Because there is basic aging deterioration to the refractory lining of the kiln there are no options except to replace the kiln. The project contemplated is simply to replace the well used but geriatric kiln and the accessories that are associated with the replacement. The kiln proposed is the current version of the kiln now in use and has a 45 year life span.
This grant is for fifteen student size guitars and cases, to be used in the classroom of the 3rd through 5th graders. Students will work in pairs to learn proper technique for chording, strumming and finger picking; with instruction from the music teacher
This grant includes a signed personalized print of Colin Thompson, raised relief maps that include Nevada, California and Lake Tahoe. As well as monies for framing and future art work. These items will be put on the walls of the library.
This grant will be supplemental to funds received to purchase new instruments. This grant will provide matching funds to increase the buying power, specifically to purchase low wind instruments. This acquisition will increase the opportunities for students to participate in the bands and to balance the bands.
This project will provide additional Orff Instruments (xylophones, met allophones) and guitars for T. L. E. School students. With the integration of the additional fourth and fifth grade students from the Rideout School the instructional needs of the forth and fifth grade students are currently not being met. The addition of these instruments will shorten the waiting time to use these instruments and provide a longer hands-on learning experience and less down time.
This project will bring exhibits of the arts into the schools and community. A large prominent gallery will be built in the Truckee High School Library and a portable art gallery will be purchased for the use of the entire staff at Truckee High School. The portable art gallery will travel to other schools for Truckee High School exhibits. The portable art gallery will also be able to be loaned out to other sites.
Construction tools for use in the NTHS/NTMS auditorium for construction of stage sets. This will engage the students with a hands-on technical aspect of theater arts which is part of the theater arts curriculum and are addressed in Calif. Advanced performing Arts standards.
