To purchase books on tape in both Spanish and English to support literacy at home in the target language. Books and tapes will be sent home weekly to help parents support students regardless of their own literacy level

To purchase books on tape for students take home use. The grant also covers the purchase of blank cassette tapes and a dubbing machine so copies can be made and shared amongst all students.
To purchase tumbling mats, wobble boards, foam balance beams, Lolo balance balls, agility ladders and hurdles for physical education. The equipment appeals to all developmental levels, kindergarten through 5th grade, and aligns with the California Elementary Physical Content Standards.
To purchase write and wipe lapboards which are used as teaching tools in the elementary curricula. They allow teachers to do ?guided practice? and ?check for understanding.?
Kings Beach Elementary has partnered with SWEP, The Tahoe Resource Conservation District, The Boys and Girls Club and Project Mana to turn existing planter boxes into a summer community garden and Best Management Practices (BMP) demonstration site. The schoolyard project will promote the use of native plans along with a vegetable garden. All students will have the opportunity for math and LA activities that reinforce standards and connect to the projects
