Grant request is to purchase 400-450 leveled reading books to be used in the home reading program ?book bags.? The book bags are sent home with the students as a tool to reinforce their emerging skills as readers
Grant is to purchase an ?educators packet? of Speed Stacking Cups (15 sets + instructional DVD). The Speed Stacking cups would be added to the movement center program ? they help in concentration, motor skills, right/left brain stimulation and fun!
First Grade Science Readers. To purchase reading materials to enhance the science and language arts curriculum. The books provide a collection of readers at varied levels, using non-fiction themes, which align to California state standards.
Increasing Fluency through Readers Theater. To purchase Reader?s Theater scripts for the Reading Intervention Program and for the English Language Learners who are intermediate or below on the CELDT.
To purchase and replace materials for Glenshire?s Movement Centers. The Movement Centers are learning tools used to ease stress and encourage whole brain learning.
Rear Projection Screen and Projector. Funding to purchase a portable rear projection screen and projector to enhance dramatic and musical productions on the Glenshire stage.
Marcy Cook Math Centers. To fund math centers for 5th grade students to learn through hands-on, standards-based stations, which allow them to probe, explore and experiment with mathematical thinking. These stations supplement the Harcourt math program.
