Comic books that will keep students interested in reading. Program was inspired by Stephen Krashen who states the two most important keys to reading success in young children is having access to reading material that is meaningful to them and having time to read. Also extremely important to find material that interests them.
The program would enhance the reading, listening and writing skills of the 3rd Grades. The books would be shared among teachers to integrate literature with writing language skills throughout the school year.
Crafting tools that to create life-long arts and crafts through knitting embroidery and weaving. Crafts would incorporate academic standards in math and reading. Students would have to measure, calculate and read directions accurately.
Games similar to above grant. Designed for Special Day Class. Will help students who have difficulty understanding and displaying appropriate social skills with peers and adults in their environment. Cooperation, sense of respect for others and ability to work as a team are focused in these games.
