Grant request is to provide an inexpensive but fully functional 35MM camera to students wanted to take Photography at Truckee High but who are unable to afford or obtain a working camera.
This grant will purchase a portable spotlight for use of any production on the Truckee Elementary School?s Stage, including grade level performances or community events.
This grant would purchase high-interest reading materials for silent, sustained reading (SSR) and to enhance basic reading skills, foster expressive language skills and to promote effective writing through reading in Ms.Gordon?s classroom.
This grant will provide Audio Literature (books on tape) for the required reading of mainstream English 9th -12th grade classes. English as Second Language students will have audio versions of books in order to supplement their understanding.
This grant would supply materials to supplement textbooks with hands on maps and atlases for students in the special day classes and in the special education classes.
Funding for four Power Station exercise equipment platforms as the existing lifting equipment has gotten to the point of being non-repairable. Students in all the physical education classes and athletic teams totaling 400-600 students yearly use this equipment.
Supplementing the current math program for students with different abilities and learning styles, with texts, visual aids, and hands-on-materials. To be used by the special education teachers at Truckee High School and any other students in Special Education whose teachers wish to use them.
This project will provide students with special needs additional materials to practice basic skills in math, language arts and study skills as identified in their IEPs. These materials will assist in helping these students pass the high school exit exam.
