An IBM compatible computer and printer will be purchased for the Sheltered Biology, Biology, Sheltered Physical Science, Physical Science and Advanced Placement Biology classroom. This computer will serve a variety of needs including experimentaion data, utalization of multi-media software and bilingual science software to act as a tutorial for students ho have not reached the language proficiency needs for science.
The technology Center at Truckee High School has requested a Hewlett Packard 3C color scanner. This equipment will enable students to create documents, projects, pamphlets, brochures, and sports and academic programs using original art work, creative computer designs, personal and business logos and other hard copy pictures and photographs.
The purchase of a PC computer and printrer will help learning disabled students become more effective on the use of computers, giving them greater vocational skills.
Funds for this project will be used to continue the Career Explorer Express program. This program matches interested 11th and 12th grade students with site hosts from the Community for career exploration.
Graphing Calculators will be purchased so there will be sufficient for the number of students in the advanced math classes. With the visual aid of a graph display, students will more effectively learn the significance of math equations.
Computer equipment will be purchased for the Graphic Art Department so instructions can take place in the classroom. This will provide students with a marketable skill as well as allow access for other students to make use of the software in the lab for projects and assignments.
