3 CD collection of Authentic Traditional Folk and Contemporary Songs that students will use to assist in vocabulary & grammar acquisition as well as fantasitc pronunciation in all Spanish Levels.
This program will focus on Charactre building, values,caracture traits, grief and anger management. This program gives students tools for better communication, tolerance and acceptance.
Purchase of 14 Brock Magiscope Microscopes for the 4th and 5th Grades at Rideout. They will be used to enhance the various science units such as: Watershed Studies, Composting, Crayfish Life Cycles and Geology.
Books for small reading groups followed by discussion. Books are for multi-level classes and remedial readers. These books correlatewith California State Standards in Social Studies Science.
Expressive toys, toys which act out aggression, toys of imaginative play and games which directly involve the child and aide in cooperative play. These items support the Special Friends Program.
Books for Grades K-3 to be used in the Reading Circle Program. Books are purchased in groups of 8, that fall within all the various levels of reading. Books are purchased to motivate and stimulate the children to become "readers".
Spanish materials, books and videos for Spanish Instruction. Teachers salary funded by PTO. 378 students directly involved. Part of regular school curriculum.
Math and Literature books (K-3). This program uses literature to develop mathematical thinking and communication skills necessary for the district APSAC test.
Books on tape and tape recorders to help stuggling readers in English Grades 3-5. This would help both native English speakers and those who's parents do not speak or Read English.
Weekly books for disadvantaged students to take home for daily reading. Books are returned weekly. We funded grades 1 and 2 in the fall of 2000. Wanted to continue with grades 3-5. Program seems successful.
Techowrks program for grades 4 and 5. Program addresses Technology Awareness, Keyboarding, Word Processeng, Internet Telecommunications, Intro to Programming Data Bases and Electronic Presentations.
Upgrade the stage and equipment for muli-purpose room. Lighting, Sound reflecting Bakdrop. Teacher is using her Linda Brown Fellowship Award money to supplement this project.
