Purchase basic cassette players for student's to check out of classroom libraries, so they can hear content area curriculum, short story books or novels at home.
Games to teach young children appropriate social behavior by fostering self-control, Interpersonal problem solving and considering the thoughts and feeling of others.
Games similar to above grant. Designed for Special Day Class. Will help students who have difficulty understanding and displaying appropriate social skills with peers and adults in their environment. Cooperation, sense of respect for others and ability to work as a team are focused in these games.
Computers and printers for the Academic Support Assistance Program. Alternative education program for students who are "falling through the cracks," in the mainstream middle school classroom. Designed to get kids back on track with their academics.
Books on tape, videos, DVD's and equipment. Multi Media Library will convey current knowledge of curriculum areas and will embellish those areas through a visual media. We are requesting she document program for checking out Media with teachers and possibly use this site as a pilot program for our District to share the many multi media materials.
Overhead teaching equipment, manipulatives and tools, for student use to supplement the school wide CPM curriculum. It will allow teachers to provide the basic instruction necessary to meet state standards. Overhead supplies will demonstrate visually many concepts necessary for a solid foundation to Algebra. Compasses, protractors, etc will enhance student learning through hands-on activities. The recommended calculators will provide access to all students.
Books and library materials for two classroom libraries. Will be stocked with a variety of reading material attractive to readers and non-readers of all abilities. Libraries in the classroom provide accessibility in a supportive environment which promotes literacy among all students.
Purchase of additional 8th Grade Core Books. Expand the current selections that are outdated and the majority of the books focus on historical fiction. Gives students a wider selection with more updated selections.
Career Exploration materials. Focuses on students abilities, skills, preferences, values and personality traits to help them discover who they are.. Hopes to raise awareness of future goals thus making current school subjects more applicable to real life.
Bill Parsons with the North Tahoe Rotary is willing to purchase two pieces of equipment, one for the Middle School and one for the High School, if we match funds. Currently awaiting description from sites as to what is being purchased. Will hold funds until we receive information.
Kitchen equipment for new culinary program. Will be available school wide. Current equipment outdated and tired. General equipment for safety in Foods Classes.

Second part of grant to enhance the Auditorium at Truckee High School. Draperies, Rigging and lighting. Total cost of project $11, 341.44. Requested from the foundation $4,500.00. Additional funds for Enhancements provided by Drama Club, and THS Music Boosters.
