Innovation Grant Concept Submission
Innovation Grant submissions are closed for Fall 2011
Excellence in Education is launching a new grant program for the 2011/2012 school year. It is called the “Innovation Cycle” and it specifically supports – pilot programs, new ideas, “out of the box” thinking.
The initial phase begins with submitting a brief concept paragraph (concept, why, time to implement and ballpark budget if known) to Excellence in Education by October 17, 2011. All submittals are online at www.exined.org. There will be an Excellence in Education committee that will “screen” the ideas and invite the top candidates to an interview to further discuss the concept submitted. Once top ideas are determined (by Excellence in Education) we will ask for a thorough grant application with details and firm budget numbers. Realistically, the interview process and funding would move into winter.
“Innovative” grants are defined loosely, but are meant to encourage out of the box thinking and allowing teachers to pilot programs/ideas or try something new. Innovative Grants need to be something not already being done in the district (or at least not the current method of doing the program/idea)
